Project Description: Demolition of existing structure and design of a new residence.

Architectural Initiatives: A unique location, the property affords proximity and view opportunities of the Atlantic Ocean to the south and late day sunset views to the northwest. The property is characterized by a gently sloping procession to the top of a hill, where the structure is located. The building is organized to create a series of courtyards defining exterior spaces and sequences that enhance and promote activities on the site. The entry terrace provides a sense of protection as it is contained on three sides yet provides views through the building to the landscape beyond through generous glazed areas across the surrounding building areas. The courtyards to the south of the building are arranged to maximize the “coastline” of available glazed areas in the living spaces (and Master Suite) for view, light and interaction with the adjacent exterior spaces. The courtyard space to the west incorporates the swimming pool and pool terrace. View potential is further enhanced by arranging primary living space (both interior and exterior) on the upper level of the building for direct interaction with the surrounding and distant landscape.
